20 Questions: Google Earth FLY-IN 3D Videos by Inspirational Views

Imagine offering your clients a two and a half minute video that seamlessly transitions from a Google Earth Approach to your image of the exterior of the house and then walking around the house.

Now imagine flying in and out of the dollhouse view – using a cleaned up Objective File (.obj) – and potential buyers viewing from a bird’s eye overview – room spaces, names and dimensions.

And, this dynamic FLY-IN 3D Video – created from your Matterport Space – integrates:

✓ your client’s logo or their :06 video)
✓ five of your still images
✓ royalty free instrumental music; or, the music that you provide (.mp3)

At 5 pm EST Thursday (28 April 2016), I will ask Inspirational Views Founder about his FLY-IN 3D Video from Matterport Spaces service.

Plus, you'll get to ask Gus questions too.

Gus " @pirusan " Hanashiro is a Member of the Matterport User Group Forum and We Get Around Referral Network (Referral Network Map Profile).

Thank you for tuning in for this live chat in this MUG Forum thread ...

Need Tip for a shoot on Hallway with mirror

https://my.matterport.com/models/hrf9hsnu2G4

For the life of me I tried everything to move down a hallway with partial mirrors on either side. As you will see by this link (leads directly to the issue [above], the only way I could move was to go way down to the bathroom at the other end. I then got an error that basically said that it accepted my scan but suggested that I made the scans a little closer. Trouble was, it wouldn't allow me too. I went back to the middle after scanning at the end, still wouldn't let me. So therefore, I couldn't scan the closets as I couldn't get a way into them. I Mickey-moused a way of showing them on the tour by making an exterior 360 scan. What was I doing wrong?

Huge property w two basements

Hi Everyone,

I left a voicemail a number of hours ago and followed up with an email to Matterport but despite my asking to hear back from someone tonight no one ever responded. Pretty much par for the course from them.

Anyway, I'm scanning a huge property tomorrow morning [Tuesday, 30 August 2016] that has two basement spaces w two separate sets of stairs to the main level.

How do I address this in the model? If I scan the first section I'll have to begin the main level at the top of the stairs, however, I don't think the model will recognize if I begin in the second section.

Has anyone ever had to deal with this situation?

Thanks,

Charlie

Airbnb, VRBO and HomeAway: Tactical Help

Screen grab: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12155038?s=ULlDWHqc

On Wednesday (17 August 2016) We Get Around scanned a charming intown Atlanta bungalow for a homeowner that lists with Airbnd and HomeAway.

What tactical direction do I need to give the homeowner to have the Matterport Space 3D Tour embeded or as a link in Airbnd and HomeAway (and VRBO for others)?

In reviewing previous Matterport User Group Forum threads on this topic ....

✓ Tours on VRBO, VHR, and AirBnB
✓ Monthly Recurring Revenue versus 1x Payments
✓ Examples wanted: Airbnb, VRBO, etc.
✓ Airbnb

... I noticed that @fsmith posted these two Airbnb examples where the Matterport Spaces are embedded in the listing.

✓ https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12292174?s=x4HqawiY

What tactical direction - screen grabs - do I give the homeowner so that the listing looks like these?

Or, do you think these above links are Matterport and Airbnd testing before rolling out how to do this?

I noticed in the same discussion that @rpetersn included a screen grab showing Links to more information. While not our first choice, that's better than nothing.

What tactical direction - screen grab on the back end - do I give the homeowner so that the listing can look like this?

Other discussion about Matterport meets vacation rentals at a tactical "how to" implementation level?

Thanks,

Working on a Great Lower Third

When you have a little slider that pops in to a video it is called a lower third. I only share that for those of you that do not do video.

Here is a video that I did to both send the Matterport Message and to "hide" something I did not like around the door area.

I am working to develop on a lower third in a transparent variety
so I can use it time and time again.

Hello.

Have any of you fine folks out there used anyone recently to digitally home stage a Matterport VT?

I know Blue Sketch do it but I would like to know if there are any others out there who do a decent enough job. I like to shop around first, do my research etc.

Thanks.

Ricoh Theta S - Video Stabilizer

http://forum.we-get-around.com/cached/f0a9146541931a1678adfa74eea43810.jpg

Hi @GeorgeK

I received a video stabilizer today (29 August 2016) - designed and promoted for smartphones and GoPros - that should be PERFECT for the Ricoh Theta S. @TrustedPhotoDC posted to this Matterport User Group Forum thread that he felt my walking 360º video of the 4th of July Parade on St. Simons Island was in need of stabilization.

It's a surprisingly simply design. I was expect to pay a few hundred for a motorized gyro stabilizer and have a somewhat big "thing" at the end of the pole. With this video stabilizer and a Ricoh Theta S, you would not see the pole at all. Just the outreached hand ...

I could imagine you walking through a house-for-sale listing and giving your color commentary.

Obviously not meant for MLS, but I could imagine that this could be an easy, fast and affordable solution for real estate agents (that are tech savvy like you), using the combination of the Ricoh Theta S and the stabilizer.

I could also imagine Matterport Pros - enabling their agent clients to do this - and handling the post production and delivery of the 360º spherical video on YouTube and Facebook.

I add this stabilizer to my Matterport Gear and Accessories shopping list in the Ricoh Theta S section. It's $49.99 on Amazon and is available via Amazon Prime shoppers  ...

Your thoughts from the perspective as an agent/Matterport Pro?

Best,

Dan

P.S. Dinner plans for tonight - and busy week - so it will likely be Labor Day Weekend before I get to take it for a spin and report back here  ...

Front House Photo for Intro

Newbie question. My new Matterport arrived today and it is charged up and ready to go. I headed over to a house to play with the camera. I often see a front shot of the house as the intor. Is this done by grabbing a snapshot from a 360? Do you add a totally separate photo? Any tips are welcomed.

Home Owners Pay?

Has anyone had success having the owners pay for a Matterport Tour?

I have an agent in Chicago that ALWAYS has the client pay half when she does them. She just tells them that it's outside of her normal marketing but if the sellers wants to have them they can each pay half.

It seems to work for her.

Has anyone else found a way to have the sellers pay for the tour?

Editor not loading on new scans

Anyone come across this issue? all of my previous models seem to be loading fine in the back end however two scans which I completed yesterday seem to be having issues and i'm getting a "Workshop failed to load." message.

Any info on a fix or what could be causing the issue would be great!

Placing tour on a USB Drive

Has anyone been able to put a model on a USB drive that they could attach to a TV which would display the different views and show a fly-by of a model which would continuously loop to demonstrate to potential clients how MD models work?

Are measurements this far off?
